  Woodvale student makes WAFL debut

Former Woodvale Primary School student, Rohan Bewick (19) made his Western Australian Football League debut for West Perth in round 1 of the 2009 season.  Rohan was elevated to the West Perth league list after a strong 2008 season with the colts and reserves teams. Twin brother, Shaun and 19 year-old Jay Tindall, another former Woodvale Primary School graduate, have also been promoted to the league list. Rohan is the third generation of the Bewick family to play for the Falcons.

Casey on target at Fed Cup

Woodvale Primary School graduate, Casey Dellacqua (right) , is making a steady recovery from a shoulder injury that disrupted her 2008 season. After representing Australia at the Hopman Cup, Casey reached the semi-finals of the doubles at the Australian Open, eventually losing to the Williams sisters. Her good form continued at the Federation Cup zone finals in Perth where she was undefeated in both singles and doubles. Despite her good form, shoulder surgery was required after competing during January and February. Casey hopes to recapture her 2008 singles ranking when she returns to the women's tour later in 2009.
