2023 was a fantastic year of fun, learning and community at Woodvale Primary School. Our 2023 Annual Report documents the achievements and events of the year, and outlines plans for the future. It has recently been endorsed by the Board and can be found on our website under the ‘Our School’ drop-down menu.
The Annual Report is an important component of our school self-assessment cycle. Each year we reflect on our progress towards the strategic targets set in the Business Plan, as well as sharing important information about the school population (staff and students), student attendance, student achievement and progress, financial reports and events.
Please take a look at the Annual Report and join us in celebrating a successful school year.
Last week, we held a special ceremony to commemorate the ANZACs. The Student Councilors did a fantastic job running the service and spoke clearly and confidently. Corporal Ryan Cooper addressed the audience and spoke of the relevance of the ANZAC story to our lives today. Former students, Billy and Ruben played the trumpet to sound the Last Post and Rouse, and the choir performed a beautiful song to allow the audience a moment of reflection.
Each class laid a wreath in remembrance and respect. Students made their wreaths in class and learned about the symbols of ANZAC Day and the significance of Australia’s involvement in wars and peacekeeping missions since World War One. A sample of student work from across the school is on display in each of the wet areas.
